This course introduces the care and use of precision measuring instruments. Emphasis is placed on the inspection of machine parts and use of a wide variety of measuring instruments. This course also introduces methods in the setup and operation of coordinate measuring machines. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the correct use of measuring instruments.
The CNC Machinist I course will provide students with the knowledge to excel in entry to mid-level industrial manufacturing positions. Topics covered include safety, industrial mathematics, precision measurement, tooling, CNC mill setup and operation, CNC lathe operation and setup, and g-code programming.
